With so much talk on the news about investments, stocks, IPOs and the predictions on ROI (return on investment), you often wonder what is the most secure investment. I don’t know if you’ve ever taken a chance on Wall Street, but if you’re not an expert you quickly learn that you’re success depends solely on whether you receive a decent return.
The question then is, what can I invest in that ensures a great return immediately without having to meet with someone for endless hours to make the right choice? Henry David Thoreau once said, “Goodness is the only investment that never fails.” It’s that EASY! No need to go to school to get your brokers license, find an honest advisor, read books written by Wall Street experts, or even DVR CNBC to then try to catch up at night googling terms you don’t understand! Goodness, that’s the most secure investment.
Now the dilemma for some may be: Do I wait until I acquire goodness from someone else to invest it? Of course not! You kick-off the investment by doing good immediately, not waiting for the right person, or the most appropriate/convenient moment, but instead by doing good NOW. What if those around me don’t deserve for my goodness? The investment that never fails is to do good, not to judge it, and it requires immediate action.
Therefore today, kick-off your week making an investment that’s sure to bring you a return. Why continue investing in things that don’t have an ROI? I choose to do good, because in due season I will reap if I don’t give up.
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
